Two Ways to Navigate: Once your pet carrier is secured to the wheel base, you can pull your pet in 2 ways:
- 1) Keep the shoulder strap connected at both ends of the pet carrier. Grasp the center of the shoulder strap and navigate your pet carrier wheel base by continuing to hold the middle of the shoulder strap as you walk. This style mimics how you would walk with a roller suitcase at your side.
- 2) Simply latch the shoulder strap clip to the front D-ring and you're all set to pull your pup around.
- Smooth Glide: Equipped with eye-catching neon skateboard wheels, ensuring a smooth and quiet ride for your pet.

At Roverlund, we know choosing the right carrier for your adventure buddy is essential to enjoying smooth journeys together. Whether you’re running errands around town or jetting off to far-away places, having a carrier that your pup is comfortable in is a necessity.
Here are our tips to select the right size Roverlund pet carrier!
WEIGH YOUR PUP
You can use your pup's estimated weight as a guide to select the best pet carrier size.
The Out-of-Office Pet Carrier comes in two sizes:
- Small (suitable for most dogs and cats 15 lbs and under)
- Large (suitable for most dogs and cats 25 lbs and under)
When in doubt, we always recommend going a size up.
MEASURE YOUR PUP’S LENGTH AND HEIGHT
If you have a measuring tape handy, you can also take their measurements to confirm it will be a good fit. Start at the front of their chest and measure the distance to their rear. For their height, measure from the top of their shoulder blade to the base of their paw.
- Small fits most dogs up to 16.5" in length and 10" in height
- Large fits most dogs up to 18.5” in length and 12" in height.
I’ve received the carrier. How do I know it is the right fit?
It is okay if the carrier is a snugger fit, as long as your pet seems comfortable and can turn around inside the bag.
Most Pups Won’t Stand Up in the Carrier
It is totally normal if your pet is not able to stand up in the carrier.
Think of the ideal size as a cozy, snuggly place for your pup or cat to curl up in and snooze. With soft-sided carriers like ours, most pups—unless they are teacup or toy size breeds—will not be able to stand up inside—and that’s okay!
Maximizing Your Pup's Space for Air Travel
Our carriers are in-cabin compliant with most major airlines.
Each carrier is designed to fit within the space under the seat in front of you, which is typically about 12” in height.
Our pet carrier is one of the largest in-cabin compliant carriers available. When traveling by plane with our Large size, we recommend removing your carrier's rear pocket insert. This way, your carrier's flexible rear frame can more easily conform to the seat requirements in front of you.
Please keep in mind that in-cabin pet policies are subject to change at any time, and we always encourage our customers to reach out to your specific airline prior to your planned travel with any concerns you may have.

This travel carrier has quickly become one of our favorite travel essentials. We went with the Large so my dachshund has enough space to turn around and get comfortable, and he jumped right in from day one.

The Roverlund Pet Carrier Pro is handsome, sturdy and airline compatible. You pay more for it, sure, but it's worth it. I've been traveling with my 11lb dog for over two years in a popular alternative brand, and although it worked perfectly well, it started to tear at the seams and doesn't compare with the Roverlund (although the durable Roverlund is necessarily a bit heavier). If you have any doubts about this Pet Carrier's quality and value, put them aside - you won't be disappointed!

Just got off our flight from NYC to SFO and the carrier was brilliant! Out 17lb chihuahua mix was at home in the Large Pro Edition. Spacious and roomy and he could breathe! Thank you for the thoughtful design!
Bailey immediately went into her carrier and claimed it as her new handout spot. She has plenty of room to stretch out completely or curl up in a ball to fall asleep. We used it for a weekend trip by train and she would have been happy to stay inside the carrier the entire trip. Love the quality, style, and durabilty . Camo and orange look great together!
I wanted to leave this review because before flying, I spent so much time looking for someone with a dog around my beagle’s size. My beagle is 26 pounds and fit comfortably in this carrier. She was able to turn around with no issues, curl up, and relax throughout our flight. The quality is amazing, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing she was comfortable. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone flying with a medium-sized dog!

I bought this backpack in spring 2024, and for over two years it has been part of our everyday life. It has carried my dog to parks, on bike rides into Manhattan, on flights, and through countless adventures around New York City. Beyond transportation, it has become his safe place—a familiar space he seeks out for comfort, even when he's being cared for by someone else.
For transparency, I've been tough on this bag. It's been washed countless times, dragged through dirt, exposed to the elements, and heavily used as part of our active lifestyle. I've even made a few personal repairs and modifications along the way. Despite all of that, it remains fully functional and remarkably durable.

My puppy was VERY comfortable in the carrier. It was our first time meeting so I was a little nervous (as was she) but I didn’t hear a peep out of her and she rested well in it. Ive since also purchased the shoulder carrier and just invested in the bookbag for my pup (which I can’t wait to try out). I love Roverland products.
